John Miles passed away this Sunday, December 5 at the age of 72 in his hometown of Newcastle. Surrounded by his family, he passed away serenely surrounded by his family.
 
In 1976, John Miles had a worldwide success with the hit Music. This song became the anthem of Night of the Proms, a series of concerts mixing pop and classical music that have been held every year since 1985 in Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
 
Guitarist, singer and keyboardist, John Miles has also collaborated with the greatest like Tina Turner, Jimmy Page or Joe Cocker.
 
It was via a statement posted on his Facebook page that the news was announced to fans. We are devastated to have to announce that Mr. Music John Miles has sadly passed away peacefully after a very short illness, it reads. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and we will all miss him more than any words could ever express. Please respect our privacy during this extremely difficult time. He will live forever in our hearts and with the wonderful musical legacy he left behind. You were our first love and you will be our last. Our husband, father, grandfather and hero. We love you.
